BBC Scotland comment on “DNA”

12 July 2002

After working with BBC Scotland for sometime since Steve Trimingham’s short film “Head in the Clouds” was spotted by Development Executive Jonathon Phillips at the BBC British Short Film festival, coverage was given on the TV serial drama “DNA”.

Here is an excerpt from the response to the 2 x 90 minute scripts Cassandra Media sent to the script editor Paul Logue.

“The most attractive aspect of DNA is in the solid premise and the contemporary themes it sets out to explore. Setting the story in the very topical world of genetic research gives the project much contemporary currency."

"Additionally, by pursuing these themes through the action/thriller genre the project could easily appeal to wide, mainstream audience. The recent success of dramas such as Spooks and Field of Gold proves that audiences have an appetite for this kind of drama, which could make DNA an attractive prospect for commissioning.”
